I wanted to share photos with you from Joys birthday party and her surprise gift :)
My mom, sister-in-law Stephanie, and I had the fun idea of surprising Joy with a room makeover! It was much needed. First of all, none of her bedroom furniture matched. I know what you're thinking: Oh but the eclectic look is so nice and fun!.... No, not in this case. Next, her bed was too tall for her and far too small. She mentioned her back was hurting her and we knew that a new bed would do the trick. Lastly, she had no place to store all of her little things. If you know Joy, you know how she likes to collect many things. Papers, movies, popsicle sticks...you name it. She needed something with cubby's and shelves where she could keep these things, but they could also be out of sight.
We ventured off the Ikea (the promised land) and got to work! Stephanie has a natural ability to turn any room into a master piece! We were so thankful to have her there to help us do something special for Joy.
When Joy's actual birthday arrived, we started off the day by going to breakfast at the Buttered Biscuit in Sumner. (If you haven't been, please go. It's so delicious!) After that, Justin "kidnapped Joy" so we could get to work on her room.
After working on the room for a few hours, we went over the the Davis' to help set up for her party. We had a great turn out and everyone seemed to have a really good time, especially Joy!
Here's some pics of the party:
The party was so much fun! Joy was so happy that everyone took time out of their busy weekend to celebrate the big 4-0! A very special thank you for everyone that made this such a memorable day for her :) We love you all so much!
Joy spent the night at her sister's, which gave us plenty of time to finish up her gift. When Joy got home the next day there was a note for her at the front door...
and another note sitting on her NEW bed :) ...
:)
Special thanks to:
